Announcements
Secret Santa
On Thursday Dec. 15th, our class will be having their Christmas Party. During the party, your child will be exchanging gifts with another child in the class. None of the children know who they are giving or receiving a gift from. All they know is if they are buying for a boy or girl. Today your child received their card letting them know if they are buying for B (boy) or G (girl). The children were asked to spend $15.00. Over the years, gift cards seem to be a favorite. Some ideas: Dick's Sporting Goods, Olympia, Gamestop, Target, Walmart, & Toys R Us. Since the party is on December 15th, please make sure your child brings in their gift by December 14th in case some children head out early vacation.
Thank you,
- Mr.Sprunger
Advent Calendar and Tasks
Your child/ children has received an Advent Calendar. Everyday during Advent your child will be given an activity to complete at home. Each activity will be written on the back of their calendar. Once they complete the activity, please initial the front of the calendar. In school, they will be creating an Advent chain with each completed activity. On December 16th, your child will be taking home their Advent chain. It does not have to be returned to school, and the rest of the activities they need to complete before Christmas. I will hand out enough strips of paper for them to continue their chain at home. ******When your child returns to school after Christmas break, they must return the completed Advent calendar (but not the chain). This will be recorded as a test grade in Religion. If it is not returned on January 3rd, it will result in a 0.***** If you have any questions regarding this activity, please let me know.
Thank you,
Mr. Sprunger
REMINDER: FIELD TRIP - FRIDAY OCT. 28 Bus leaves at 8am
Friday, October 28th, is our field trip to Mayflower II and Plimoth Planatation. The bus will be promptly leaving at 8:00 a.m and returning at 3:45 p.m. All children need to be dressed in their gym uniform. The weather forecast for this Friday looks like rain, so please make sure your child is prepared for it (raincoat or umbrella). It is also very cold on the coast, so a winter hat and gloves might also be a good idea. Hopefully the rain will not last all day. There are 3 gift shops, so students may bring money. Due to the pending wet weather make sure lunches are in Ziploc bags with the students name on it.
Thank you, Mr. Sprunger

Advent Calendar
The students in 4th grade have received an advent calendar with a few of the many tasks that they are required to do listed on the back. Each day of advent (Sunday Nov 29 until Christmas Dec. 25), the students will be assigned a task to do in preparation for the coming celebration of the birth of Christ. After each task is completed, a parent must initial the corresponding star on the advent calendar. PLEASE DO NOT LOSE THE CALENDAR. The next school day, I will check the calendars. If the task has been completed and initialed by a parent, l will add a link to their advent chain that will be hanging up in the hallway at school. Mr. Lane Plimoth Plantation Presentation
Today, Venerini parent, Mr. Lane came to talk to the fourth grade about Plimoth Plantation and the pilgrims in preparation for our upcoming field trip to Plimoth Plantation and Mayflower II. He worked at Plimoth Plantation for many years and is an extremely valuable resource of information regarding the subject. The students learned a great deal and will have much to discuss with the people in the village there.
Thank you Mr. Lane
Ghosting
Hello,
As we get closer to Halloween, the 4th grade likes to do a fun activity.
If your child comes home from school with a special treat, and a note that explains to you how they got their special treat. You were GHOSTED! Ghosting is a fun way for children to surprise each other in a secret way. A special treat can be candy or a little ghostly surprise nothing too big or expensive. Please make sure if your child was ghosted that they ghost someone by the next day, so the tradition can continue on.

Thank you, Mr. Sprunger
